IDP®

Immune Defense Proteins

The mucosal immunity complex. 50+ bioactive proteins that help protect the gut lining and support your first line of immune defence.

Dose per capsule 67mg
Origin New Zealand · pasture-fed cows
01 · The science

What it is and how it works.

IDP® is a bioactive whey protein complex extracted from pasture-fed New Zealand milk. It combines lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase and immunoglobulins together with 50+ minor bioactive proteins — a synergy with greater functional activity than any of its key isolates alone.

Its anti-inflammatory properties help support tight gut junctions, and its selective antimicrobial activity helps suppress harmful pathogens while sparing the beneficial organisms your microbiome depends on.

02 · Provenance

Where it comes from.

IDP® is sourced from pasture-fed New Zealand dairy in Taranaki — the same region as our manufacturing base. Cows graze year-round on grass, never grain. Each batch is verified by Quantec NZ for bioactive protein content before it reaches our facility.

03 · How it works

Mechanism of action.

Four distinct pathways. Each clinically relevant. Each working together inside one capsule.

Mucosal immunity — sIgA pathway
01

Mucosal immunity — supporting the body's sIgA defences

IDP works at the mucosal surfaces that line the gut, respiratory tract and urogenital system — the body's frontline barriers. Its immunoglobulin component (IgG) recognises and binds pathogens to tag them for clearance, while the broader protein suite supports the mucosa's own secretory IgA defences, the antibody system the body deploys to stop pathogens attaching at these surfaces.

NF-κB modulation — balanced inflammation
02

NF-κB modulation — balanced inflammation

Lactoferrin contributes to immune modulation, including effects on the NF-κB signalling pathway — a master regulator of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β. This supports a measured inflammatory response while preserving appropriate immune vigilance, rather than blunting it.

Gut barrier integrity — tight junctions
03

Gut barrier integrity — tight junctions

IDP supports the proteins that form tight junctions between intestinal cells, helping maintain the integrity of the gut lining against everyday stressors — demonstrated in vitro to improve intestinal barrier function. A stronger barrier means fewer pathogens and toxins crossing where they shouldn't.

Antimicrobial — lactoferrin + lactoperoxidase
04

Antimicrobial — lactoferrin + lactoperoxidase

Lactoferrin sequesters free iron, depriving pathogens of a critical nutrient. Lactoperoxidase drives an antimicrobial system that generates highly active peroxyhalide compounds. Together they apply selective pressure against pathogens while sparing commensal bacteria — favouring a balanced microbiome.

Study summary

Double-blind RCT · n=120 · 12 weeks · adults aged 55+. Daily IDP supplementation was associated with a statistically significant reduction in zonulin (p<0.01) and improvement in secretory IgA compared with placebo. No adverse events were reported.

05 · Quality

Manufactured under GMP in New Zealand.

Every batch is third-party tested for purity, potency, heavy metals and microbials. PharmaNZ — our manufacturing partner — is a fully GMP-certified facility used by New Zealand's leading pharmaceutical companies. We're held to the same standard as a prescription medicine, by design.

06 · Common questions

Questions about IDP®

Is IDP® the same as whey protein?

No. Regular whey protein is valued mainly as an amino-acid source for building muscle. IDP is a bioactive fraction — concentrated specifically for the functional proteins (lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase, immunoglobulins and 50+ others) that play a role in immune defence and barrier health. It's the same suite of proteins nature evolved to protect the cow's mammary gland from infection and inflammation.

How is IDP® different from Immunel®?

Complementary, not interchangeable. IDP is a suite of 50+ bioactive whey proteins from milk that work at the mucosal surface to support barrier integrity and frontline immune defence. Immunel is a concentrated colostrum fraction of growth factors and signalling peptides that rapidly activates the innate immune system. One holds the line at the barrier; the other mobilises the response. Together they cover both.

Is it suitable for lactose-intolerant people?

In almost all cases, yes. IDP is a protein fraction — completely different from drinking milk — and only a minuscule trace of lactose remains after processing. To date we've had no reports of anyone with lactose intolerance reacting to it. There's a second effect worth knowing: because Re:juvenate Pro helps calm an overactive immune system, many people find that over time they actually tolerate foods they used to react to. If you have a diagnosed cow's-milk-protein allergy, check with your healthcare professional first, as the formula does contain milk-derived proteins.
